The Houston-Galveston Area Council is hosting a series of public meetings this month to get public feedback on the Regional Transportation Plan (RTP) for 2050. "The RTP outlines the region’s transportation vision, goals, and strategies. It also describes: what our transportation system looks like today, what we want it to look like in the future, and how we’ll reach those goals with specific projects."
The RTP covers a 13-county region. We're sharing information on two public meetings for Galveston residents taking place this Thursday, July 24th at 6:30PM-8PM. These meetings run at the same time - for residents closer to League City, you can attend in person at North County Annex, located at: 174 Calder Rd., League City, TX 77573. If you are closer to Texas City, the in person meeting is at the Mid-County Annex Coomunity room within Galveston County Health District at 9850-A104 Emmett F. Lowry Expy, Texas City, TX 77591. Residents of Galveston County that cannot attend in person can participate virtually during the meeting time via zoom: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/81752106344?pwd=d7kgiZ0aeNjMbFx7uFGttdeYY5Rkos.1
H-GAC also offers assistance for the public meetings - "Need a language interpreter or other accommodations? Email [email protected] or call 832-821-2050."
In addition to public meetings, H-GAC has a survey that residents throughout the 13-county region can complete, providing feedback on what improvements they feel need to be made. MHI advocates are happy to assist with completing the survey, if you experience barriers to submitting it. You can call us at 1-888-307-9639 and press option 1.
The survey can be found at: https://engage.h-gac.com/embeds/projects/27493/survey-tools/24956
