Alief ISD is a high performing, comprehensive K-12 public school district serving approximately 47,000 students at 45 campuses. Mary Ivena Gasaway Klentzman. Ms.

Klentzman Intermediate School is named in honor of Ms. Klentzman was associated for many years with the Alief Independent School district. She began the Creative Arts program in the schools and served as a member of the School Board for many years. She also taught piano and voice lessons to the children and adults in the community. Klentzman was a member of the Alief Community Church for 60 years.
