We ask that you please refrain from any outdoor burning today 10/11 or tomorrow 10/12 due to the threat of high wildfire conditions. If you happen to be mowing, be mindful if you strike a rock or object that has potential of creating one small spark. We understand that everyone has outdoor projects to get done, just watch your surroundings with these conditions that we continue to experience this year. This is the worst it has been since 2012 and continues to surpass what we went through then. Thank you for your assistance everyone.

Good morning everyone! As we all know, we need rain bad. There is a slight chance of precipitation this afternoon and those that do receive rain could potentially see downpours. Others could experience the outflow and receive high winds with dry lightning. Conditions are extremely dry and temperatures continue to remain high. There is some relief in our temperatures coming Tuesday next week, but this doesn’t help our ground fuels. A steady rainfall for three days is what we need and that just isn’t in our extended forecast.

We ask that everyone help’s out by not conducting any outside open burning. This doesn’t include means of cooking, just no open burning with embers. The wildfire Tuesday on Z Hwy just off of 63 was caused by the manure spreader skid plate striking a rock and igniting the short grass. By the time the operator looked back, the wildfire was already spreading rapidly.

There is a 15-25% chance of isolated showers and thunderstorms this afternoon. Severe weather is not expected, but lightning, gusty winds up to 50 mph, and sudden downpours could impact those outdoors.
