Aldine ISD Transition Team visited the Juvenile Detention Center, Youth Village, and Leadership Academy to gain firsthand insight into students’ experiences and the support systems in place in youth justice care.

🤝 The visit reinforced the importance of collaboration and continued support as students transition back to their home campuses and work toward long-term success.

Youth Village welcomed award-winning poet and spoken word artist Georgia Me for a special session with youth in the Word Up Program. 🎤

She shared how her personal experiences shaped her journey and inspired youth to find their voice through poetry and storytelling.

The visit ended with the youth delivering a powerful recitation of Maya Angelou’s "Still I Rise," highlighting the confidence and creativity that have grown through the program.
