With the World Cup coming to Houston–Harris County, there’s no better way to celebrate the game than with one of Precinct 2’s newest additions.

Commissioner Garcia recently celebrated the grand opening of the new COPA Futbolito Court at 100 Roberts St., a vibrant space that brings together soccer, public art, and community pride. Featuring the "From the East End to the World" mural by Dual Streets, the court is part of the Revive2Thrive initiative, creating spaces where families can gather, play, and thrive.

Stop by, kick a ball around, and experience this incredible new community space for yourself!

This week we celebrated the groundbreaking of Phase 2 of the Brookglen Stormwater Detention Basin project — a major step forward in reducing flood risk and protecting the Brookglen community and surrounding neighborhoods. 🚧🌧️

This project was identified through a 2020 feasibility study funded by the 2018 Bond Program after the area experienced multiple major flood events. Since then, community input, property acquisitions, environmental planning, and regional partnerships have helped move this important flood mitigation effort forward.

Thank you to our partners and community members for helping make this investment possible. Together, we're building a more resilient future for Brookglen.
