🍂 LEAF COLLECTION INSTRUCTIONS REMINDER 🍂
🚫 𝗣𝗟𝗘𝗔𝗦𝗘 𝗗𝗢 𝗡𝗢𝗧 𝗣𝗟𝗔𝗖𝗘 𝗟𝗘𝗔𝗙 𝗣𝗜𝗟𝗘𝗦 𝗜𝗡 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗥𝗢𝗔𝗗𝗪𝗔𝗬.
Leaf piles placed in the street are a major problem every year. Wind and traffic can scatter the leaves throughout the neighborhood, with many ending up in storm drains. When storm drains become clogged with leaves, water cannot drain properly — increasing the risk of street flooding during rain events.
Other important reminders:
• We collect leaves and lawn thatch only.
• Do not commingle leaves with sticks, tree branches, rootballs, pumpkins, apples, cornstalks, hay bales or other solid items. These items can plug or damage the leaf vacuum. A plugged vacuum takes hours to clear and delays collection service for everyone.
• Keep piles as clean and free of other materials as possible so they can be collected efficiently.
• There is no need to call or schedule a leaf pickup. Trucks will travel every Village street throughout the collection period.
Your cooperation makes a big difference in keeping our streets clean, our storm drains functioning, and our community safe.
Thank you for helping us keep the leaves where they belong — and out of the roadways and storm drains!
