October is Health Literacy Month. 🩺📚

Health information is everywhere, from your doctor's office and pharmacy to social media, television and the internet. Finding information you can trust and understanding what it means for your health isn't always easy.

Health literacy includes being able to find, understand, and use health information and services to make informed decisions. Here are a few tips:

🔎 Look for information from trusted health organizations.

💬 Ask questions when something doesn't make sense.

📝 Write down questions before medical appointments.

💊 Make sure you understand how and when to take medications.

You don’t have to be a health expert to ask questions and make informed decisions about your health. Learn more with these resources:

During Domestic Violence Awareness Month, purple pinwheels placed outside the St. Croix County Government Center by our Child Support Agency recognize lives lost to domestic violence and serve as a reminder of its impact on individuals and families.

According to End Domestic Abuse Wisconsin's 2026 Report, 101 people died in domestic violence-related incidents last year.

If you or someone you know is experiencing domestic violence, help is available. Our website includes information about local support and resources.

Looking for a way to help? There's still time to donate to our Suitcases to Safety Drive. We're collecting essential items at the St. Croix County Government Center through Oct. 30 to support individuals and families affected by domestic violence.
