Summer may be a break from school, but learning didn't stop for these hard-working students! By logging 1,000 minutes during our Summer Reading Challenge, four students from each grade were drawn as lucky winners in our school raffle.

Even better? Every single student who submitted their reading tracker earned a $10 Book Fair voucher—made possible by our generous Parent Group! 🎟️

We extend our deepest gratitude to:
-Our Parent Group for providing such generous prizes and ongoing support.
-Our Parents & Caregivers for inspiring a lifelong love of reading at home.

We are so proud and fortunate to call Hudson Prairie home. We truly are BETTER TOGETHER! ❤️

BINGO! 🎉

What a turnout for our back-to-school bingo night at Hudson Prairie: over 450 people in attendance! Lots of chances to win, but even more chances to connect and enjoy the amazing school community we have.

Huge shoutout to our local Domino's for keeping us fed all night!

It was a Patriot Day to remember. Today, our entire school community of approximately 550 students and staff gathered at the flagpole to honor and remember those who lost their lives in the Sept 11 attacks. We were grateful to be joined by several of our local heroes, including police, firefighter, and members of our armed forces. Together, they helped teach our students the importance of remembering September 11 and recognizing the sacrifices made each day to protect our communities and keep people safe.

An all-school meeting was the perfect way to end our first week at Hudson Prairie Elementary. Mr. Behnke did a fantastic job getting everyone excited for a new school year. There truly was something for everyone: singing, games, and so many shenanigans!

Yesterday, the Class of 2026 took a walk down memory lane! Wearing their caps and gowns, our graduating seniors returned to the hallways where their educational journeys first began.

Seeing the elementary students line the hallways to cheer on the graduates is a powerful reminder of where the graduates started and where hard work can take you.

What a great tradition and send off for our Seniors!

In this lesson, students explored a unique building material: mud! The properties of mud depend on the properties of the soil it's made from. In the activity, Mystery Mud, students used models of sand and clay soils to investigate how the properties of soils can differ. They used their observations as evidence to classify each soil model based on whether or not it would make mud that’s good for building.

Hudson Prairie 2nd grade students learned about self-control. Self-control is when we stop, think about our options, and then choose the option that is best for us. We are in control of our thoughts, feelings and actions. They then played Jenga to practice this concept (waiting, taking turns, being patient, and being okay with the tower falling).
