What a meaningful weekend at Christ Community Chapel!

This weekend, Pastor Mike reminded us that following Jesus takes courage. Like Stephen, we’re called to speak the truth about sin and point people to the hope, grace, and forgiveness found in Jesus, even when it comes at a cost. We may not always see the impact of our faithfulness, but God can use our obedience in ways we may never know to make room for more people to encounter him.

Pastor Appreciation Month is a great opportunity to honor the pastors who faithfully lead, serve, teach, and care for our church family.

So, how can we honor our pastors well? Pray for them. Encourage them. Serve alongside them. Speak life over them. And walk in unity with them. Let’s be a church that doesn’t just appreciate our pastors with words, but supports them with the way we live.

Leadership comes with a target on your back. Criticism, controversy, assumptions, and accusations can make leading feel like it’s not worth the cost.

But when we make leadership so costly that good people no longer want to lead, we don’t eliminate leadership–we risk leaving the door open for unhealthy leadership to fill the gap.

Let’s be a people who hold leaders accountable and make room for good, faithful people to lead.

God can work with what’s real.

He can work with our weakness, failure, doubt, and brokenness. But when we pretend to be someone we’re not, we create an image that doesn’t actually exist–and there’s nothing for God to transform.

Peter failed Jesus miserably, but he didn’t hide it. Jesus met him in his failure, restored him, and used him.

You don’t have to pretend. Bring God the real you.
