📚🍎 Ms. Rankin’s College & Career Readiness Class: Education & Training Pathway Week! 🎓

This week, students explored the Education & Training Career Cluster and learned about opportunities available to future educators!

📖 Monday: Students explored careers within the Education & Training pathway through class discussions, career posters, and slides. They wrapped up with a BINGO review game, matching career descriptions to the correct job titles!

🏫 Wednesday & Thursday: Students visited the high school to learn about the classes offered and the Texas Association of Future Educators (TAFE) program led by Mrs. Slack. They also participated in interactive stations alongside high school TAFE students, exploring program opportunities through hands-on activities!

🧺 Friday: Students wrapped up the week with a Reading Picnic! They rotated through six age-group stations to learn about developmentally appropriate books, then applied their knowledge by selecting books suited to different age groups and creating their own picnic plates.

💙 I love providing our students with hands-on opportunities to explore future careers, discover new interests, and imagine themselves as the next generation of educators!

Who knows? We may have some future teachers in the making! 🍎✏️

🦅 Huffman Middle School | Bullying Prevention

Today, our Huffman Middle School students had the opportunity to hear an important message from Hailey Casey with Crime Stoppers during grade level Bullying Prevention presentations.

Hailey covered several important topics, including:
• The difference between bullying and conflict
• Cyberbullying and its impact
• Why bullying is harmful
• The importance of getting help
• See something, do something
• Bullying and the law
• Why our character matters
• Information about the tip line and how students can report concerns

We were so proud to see our students attentive, engaged, and listening throughout the presentation. These conversations are important as we work together to make sure every student understands that they have a role in creating a safe and welcoming school community.

At Huffman, we believe this is a great place to be, and we want every student to feel safe, welcome, respected, and valued. ❤️🖤

Mrs. Brenneman’s 6th grade ELA classes were excited to share their biography research projects over a chosen historical figure. Students collaborated to analyze and locate similarities between figures based on life challenges, character traits, accomplishments, and the impact they made on society.
