πŸš¨πŸš’ 2026 CROSSROADS–CORNETT VFD FUND DRIVE πŸš’πŸš¨

It’s that time of year again! The Crossroads–Cornett Volunteer Fire Department is kicking off our 2026 Annual Fund Drive, and we’re asking our friends, neighbors, and local businesses to help us continue serving and protecting our community.

πŸ”₯ THIS YEAR WE HAVE A BIG GOAL!
We are working to raise $15,000 toward a new fire truck! πŸš’

As a volunteer fire department, we depend heavily on the generosity of our community. Your donations help us maintain our trucks and equipment, provide training and safety gear for our firefighters, and make sure we have the resources needed when the call comes in.

Every donation matters β€” whether it’s $25, $50, $100, or whatever you’re able to give. When an emergency happens, having dependable equipment can make all the difference.

πŸ“¬ Keep an eye on your mailbox! Our 2026 Fund Drive letters are going out to residents in our community.

❀️ We are incredibly thankful for the continued support our community has shown us. We are proud to serve you, and with your help, we can continue answering the call when our neighbors need us most.

A strong cold front will usher in very dry air on Friday as relative humidity plummets between 25 to 35 percent with winds gusting out of the north up to 30+ mph at times. As a result, a Red Flag Warning is in effect with the threat of rapid start and spread of wildfires.

🚨πŸ”₯ WILDFIRE DANGER β€” PLEASE TAKE THIS SERIOUSLY πŸ”₯πŸš’

Our region has now been elevated to LEVEL 3 WILDFIRE PREPAREDNESS. There are 5 preparedness levels, with Level 5 being the most critical.

⚠️ WHAT DOES LEVEL 3 MEAN?

Conditions are CRITICALLY DRY, and the wildfire threat is increasing. The state is strategically positioning additional firefighters and equipment in areas where they may be needed most.

You may notice an increased presence of state resources, including fire trucks and crews brought in from other regions.

πŸ”₯ More than 1,300 state responders and 500+ pieces of equipment are currently deployed.

πŸ”₯ 87 fires have burned more than 96,000 acres across the state.

🚨 PLEASE β€” BE EXTREMELY VIGILANT. ONE SPARK IS ALL IT TAKES.

❌ DO NOT BURN OUTDOORS. This includes burn barrels and any activity involving an open flame.

⛓️ Towing? Check your safety chains! Dragging chains can create sparks and ignite roadside vegetation.

⚑ Welding or grinding? Sparks can travel farther than you think.

πŸš— Do NOT park vehicles in tall, dry grass. Hot exhaust components can start a fire.

🌾 Even mowing can cause a wildfire. A mower blade striking a rock or metal can create enough of a spark to ignite dry vegetation.

πŸ”₯ Please use extreme caution with grilling or any other outdoor activity that could produce flames, heat, or sparks.

Our firefighters and first responders are prepared β€” but preventing the next fire starts with ALL OF US.

Please help protect our homes, our land, our neighbors, and our first responders.

🚨 BE ALERT. BE RESPONSIBLE. PREVENT WILDFIRES. 🚨

πŸ”₯ If you see smoke or fire, report it immediately.
