🚒🚑 STATION 143 PARTICIPATES IN AIRPORT EMERGENCY RESPONSE DRILL! ✈️🔥

Earlier this morning, members of Hughestown Emergency Services – Station 143 participated in the triennial emergency response drill at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport.

Station 143 responded with the following units:
🚒 Chief 143
🚒 Engine 143
🚑 Ambulance 543-1
🚑 Squad 543-4 (MCI Unit)

Meanwhile, Squad 143-3 and Ambulance 543-3 remained staffed in quarters, ensuring continued emergency coverage for our local communities throughout the exercise.

The drill brought together fire departments from Luzerne and Lackawanna Counties assigned to the airport's first and second alarms, along with EMS providers from both counties.

The training included a live-fire exercise and a simulated mass casualty incident (MCI) involving multiple patients with various injuries requiring emergency medical care.

Exercises like this provide valuable opportunities for our regional emergency responders to work together, strengthen communication, and prepare for large-scale emergencies.

We would like to extend a huge thank you to Chris Dolan for the amazing photographs capturing our local emergency responders doing what they love to do!

Chris, we truly appreciate your hard work, dedication, and talent behind the camera. Your continued support of our local emergency services does not go unnoticed.

🚒 Introducing the Annual Fire Station Improvement Fund Drive!

The Hughestown Hose Company is launching a new annual fundraising campaign focused on caring for our station. This campaign replaces our Annual Fire Truck Fund Drive, which helped support and maintain our emergency apparatus for many years.

Built in 2004, our station is home to our fire engines, ambulances, emergency equipment, training operations, and members. It is also where we begin our response to emergencies in Hughestown and surrounding communities.

After more than 20 years of constant use, the station needs ongoing repairs, preventive maintenance, and improvements to remain safe and dependable. Donations to this fund drive will go toward those station needs.

Our regular fundraising events, including our Lent Sale and Good Friday Fish Dinner, help cover everyday operating expenses. Major station projects bring additional costs, and your support can help us meet them.

Please consider making a donation to help preserve and improve the station that serves our community. We’re grateful for your continued generosity and support.

Thank you for helping us take care of the station that helps us take care of you. ❤️
