🏆 CONGRATULATIONS, DETECTIVE LESSER! 👏
This week, during the Lake Norman Chamber of Commerce’s Public Safety Power Luncheon, the Huntersville Police Department proudly recognized Detective Tim Lesser as our 2026 Officer of the Year! 🎉
Lesser served as a police officer in Hampton, Va., before joining HPD, and he has now spent more than 18 years with our agency. He has built a reputation as an experienced and dependable law enforcement professional who is always willing to step forward when needed. And within HPD, Detective Lesser is widely respected for his investigative knowledge, leadership, and selfless dedication to helping others.
Beyond that, what sets him apart is his commitment to proactive community engagement and education, through sharing knowledge, preventing victimization, and helping citizens protect themselves. He has been a consistent supporter of the North Mecklenburg Crime Stoppers program, and he has been particularly focused on helping residents to prioritize identity protection and avoid becoming victims of fraud and financial scams.
Huntersville Police Chief Brian Vaughan summed up Detective Lesser’s service as follows: “He represents the type of law enforcement professional we want representing the Huntersville Police Department and the profession as a whole. His investigative expertise, leadership, mentorship, commitment to crime prevention, and genuine investment in the people of the Lake Norman community have made a lasting impact on both our organization and the citizens we serve.”
Please join us in congratulating Detective Lesser on this well-deserved recognition! We’re grateful to have him on our team! 💙🚔👏
