Meet new Huntingdon County EMA Director Jeff Farber:
The ceremonial handing off of the 24-hour duty phone from Interim EMA Director Joe Thompson (on left) to Jeff Farber makes it official! Welcome Jeff as the new Huntingdon County EMA Director. Jeff started training in the EMA Office a few weeks ago to prepare to take over the position. He brings an extensive background in emergency management to the job. Now that the transition is complete, Joe is re-retiring(!) and we wish the best of luck to Jeff in his new role!

The National Weather Service has issued a FLOOD WARNING for the Little Juniata River at Spruce Creek until 7:00 AM Friday morning. Minor flooding is forecast. Flood stage for this location is 8.0 feet. The river is expected to rise to a crest of 8.2 feet this evening- affecting several homes- then fall overnight.

The National Weather Service has issued a FLASH FLOOD WARNING for Northern Huntingdon County until 3:45 PM.
Severe thunderstorms are expected in the area which could produce 1 to 2 inches of rain.
Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, and other poor drainage and low-lying areas is expected.

We assisted with emergency planning, coordinated special event weather support from the National Weather Service, and we’re here on site to help if needed. Our display is at the lower end of the “midway stretch”, beside the Huntingdon County Sheriff’s Office and Huntingdon Ambulance Service.

FLOOD WARNING
A Flood Warning is now in effect for Northwestern Huntingdon County until 5:00 p.m.
This replaces a Flash Flood Warning.
Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is forecast.
Between 1 and 3.5 inches of rain have fallen across the area this afternoon.
Some locations that should be prepared for flooding include Spruce Creek, Birmingham, Franklinville, Petersburg and Alexandria.
We urge you to follow weather forecasts and information on local radio stations, area TV stations, the National Weather Service State College website at www.weather.gov/ctp or other trusted sources.
