Honoring Those Who Served. Remembering Those We've Lost.

Yesterday, members of the Huntington Beach Fire Department attended the annual Orange County Fire Service Memorial Ceremony at Irvine Regional Park, joining fire departments from across Orange County to honor and remember our fallen brothers and sisters.

Our HBFD Pipes and Drums and Honor Guard proudly participated in the ceremony, helping pay tribute to those who dedicated their lives to serving and protecting their communities.

Members of our Fire Department's Chief Officer staff were also in attendance, representing HBFD and honoring the memory and legacy of our own fallen members.

This annual ceremony serves as a powerful reminder that while our fallen members may no longer be with us, their service, sacrifice, and contributions to the fire service will never be forgotten.

We honor their service. We remember their sacrifice. We will never forget.

COVER your head and neck, and take shelter under a sturdy desk or table if available.

HOLD ON until the shaking stops.

SHARK SIGHTING – BEACH CLOSURE

Huntington Beach Marine Safety has received a credible report of a 10-12 foot great white shark near Lifeguard Tower 16.

The shark was reportedly circling, a behavior classified as aggressive under Marine Safety's shark response protocols.

As a precaution, the water is being closed from Seapoint to the Huntington Beach Pier, approximately one mile north and south of Tower 16.

Marine Safety personnel are currently posting warning signs and notifying beachgoers.

The closure will remain in effect until 3:00 p.m. tomorrow, October 14.

Please follow all posted signs and instructions from lifeguards. Public safety remains our top priority.

Help Us Protect Sunset Beach!

With elevated tide levels, protective sand berms have been constructed along Sunset Beach to help prevent flooding and protect nearby homes.

We’re asking residents and visitors to please stay off the sand berms. Walking, climbing, or playing on these berms can weaken their structure and reduce their effectiveness in protecting homes from flooding.

Signs have been posted as a reminder to keep off these important protective barriers.

Thank you for doing your part to help protect our Sunset Beach community!

On Saturday evening, Huntington Beach firefighters responded to a residential structure fire in the 5000 block of Middlecoff Drive.

Arriving crews found a working fire in the garage and quickly began firefighting operations. Through their coordinated efforts, firefighters were able to prevent the fire from spreading into the home, containing the majority of the fire damage to the garage.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Great work by our firefighters in quickly containing the fire and protecting the rest of the home.
