Who knew measuring could be this cool? Mrs. Booten’s 6th grade math class had a fantastic presentation from Marshall Advanced Manufacturing. Students learned how to use calipers to take exact measurements on tractor bearings, hex bolts, cell phone screens, and much more. The future of manufacturing looks bright at Huntington Middle School! Go Eagles!

We started off this morning by introducing Mr. McKee as our new head principal! 🎉🎊(No, that is not a scepter in his hand. If you know Mr. McKee, you know that he is an avid garbage grabber outside of the building during morning duty, and that is the tool he uses to do so.) Although he is not new to our school, we are so excited to have him in this new role. Congratulations, Mr. McKee!

📚📚Get ready because the Scholastic Book Fair is coming to HMS in two weeks. It will be held in the library on October 19th - 23rd. Students will get to shop during their ELA class periods on their designated library days. You can go to our school's fair homepage to get more information and to also set up an e-wallet if you wish for your student to pay with that.📚📚 https://bookfairs.scholastic.com/bf/huntingtonmiddleschool

Today, some of our 6th grade teachers collaborated to reinforce the same essential pillars-Claim, Evidence, Reasoning, Elaboration, and Conclusion- to create a cohesive academic language. At HMS, we are building stronger writers and unified classrooms!

First thing this morning, we gathered in the gym to say "Congratulations, Mr. Eastham," as he is moving on to a new job in the county. We had to remind him that once an Eagle, always an Eagle. We will miss you, Mr. Eastham. Good luck!
