Congratulations to Huntington's newest Eagle Scouts - Sebastian Monterroso, Liam Verdolino-VanaAlten, and Mason Siegall. These three remarkable young men have made our town proud by demonstrating exemplary character, unwavering discipline, and a genuine commitment to public service. We applaud Sebastian, Liam, and Mason and thank their scout leaders and families for contributing so richly to this special milestone.

I want to wish everyone a very happy holiday weekend. There is truly no more solemn observance than Memorial Day, and we must never forget the sacred meaning of this genuinely American holiday.
 
While the days ahead are sure to be filled with beaches, BBQs, and ballgames, we must still find time to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of our freedom.
 
So, as we enjoy our family time this weekend, let's make sure to take a moment to look to the heavens and thank those whose bravery, honor, and commitment to duty secured the liberty that forever defines our great nation.

We had the privilege of watching the Fredericks Family of North Shore Veterinary Medicine receive the Historic Impact award from the Northport Historical Society at last night's gala.
