🎃🍁 Hello, October! 🍁🎃

The spookiest (and coziest) month of the year has officially arrived! 👻✨ Time to break out the flannels, sip on something pumpkin-spiced, and enjoy all the fun October has to offer.

Here are just a few reasons to celebrate this month:
🍂 Beautiful fall colors & crisp air
🎃 Halloween fun (costumes, candy, and a little mischief!)
☕ National Coffee Day vibes continuing strong
🧡 Breast Cancer Awareness Month
🧠 Mental Health Awareness reminders
🦠 It’s also a great time to stay up to date on vaccines and healthy habits as we head into flu season

October is all about balance—treats and taking care of yourself! 😉

So enjoy the season, get outside, stay healthy, and maybe save us a piece of that Halloween candy… we won’t tell 🍬👀

It's National Good Neighbor Day! Creating a strong community means being kind to each other. What can you do for your neighbor? It's not hard to be kind to one another.
Just a few examples of what you can do:
- Be nice to your neighbor – at home or elsewhere.
- If you don’t know your neighbors well, maybe today is your chance to go up to them and strike up a conversation.
- Bake some goodies and share them with your neighbors. Bring them to work for your work neighbors.
- Invite your neighbors to your home for a meal.

"The Why of Su***de"- 7th and last recap of the Su***de Awareness Community Conversation.
-based on research, a lot (not all) of suicides have 3 common themes.
1. Feeling like a burden
2. Loss of belonging (to friend groups, significant other, etc)
3. Increased ability to self harm with more lethal means

When we consider these three together, it helps us identify community strategies for prevention.

Prevention is not going to happen based on the Health Dept or HOPE's (community coalition for prevention) efforts. We need all people and groups working in these three areas. Being support for times of struggle, making people feel included and being aware of and securing methods of self-harm.

Thank you Huntington for showing up this month and showing you care.
