Congratulations to Huntington North Learning Center Teacher Dave Harvey on earning a spot as a top-10 finalist for the 2027 Indiana Teacher of the Year! Dave follows in the lineage of Huntington North teachers, being the 5th teacher to earn a spot in the top 10 since 2016!
“As a Construction Trades teacher, he consistently goes above and beyond to ensure that students receive not only high-quality technical instruction, but also mentorship that prepares them for the workforce and for life. What sets him apart is the heart he brings to his work. He does not simply teach construction, but also builds confidence, character, and purpose in his students. He holds them to high standards because he believes in their potential, and he never hesitates to meet students where they are and provide extra guidance when a student needs additional support.” - Huntington North Learning Center Principal & Technical Education Director Tiffanney Drummond
Mr. Harvey makes Huntington a better place, and we are truly grateful for his leadership here in Huntington County Community Schools! We give Mr. Harvey all the best as he continues his journey through the selection process in Indianapolis tomorrow!
