Help us congratulate our October Advocate of the Month Cori Mooney!

Cori is assigned to a baby boy who entered care without an official birth certificate or legal name on file, creating several challenges in meeting his basic needs. Without hesitation, Cori stepped in to help navigate these obstacles.

She tracked down the alleged father to ensure he was informed of court dates and provided support and guidance to the parents during what has been a confusing and overwhelming time. Cori worked diligently to locate the mother and other family members to help complete the necessary paperwork for his birth certificate. She even accompanied the parents to their DNA testing appointment, offering a familiar and supportive presence while helping ensure they understood and completed the necessary steps.

One of our advocate’s little guy recently had his first overnight visit with his potential adoptive home. It required a 3 plus hour drive each way! To help make sure he felt supported she not only rode with him there and stayed overnight in a hotel to ride back with him, but she also came by the office to put together a road trip basket of different toys, books and activities to help make the ride enjoyable! Our CASAs are the truest of heroes for the kids they serve!!

Happy National Bosses Day!

Here at CASA, we have the best boss! Hardworking, funny, kind, strong, passionate, all words that describe our boss. She is truly a pillar here at CASA and proves everyday her love for her work and the mission of CASA. She keeps our office running and truly no one could do what she does. For national bosses' day, we want to honor our strong leader because without her, we'd be lost in the wind!

Three years of heart, hard work, creativity, and making great things happen! Happy CASA-versary to our favorite Development Director, Laura Hill Green!!

If you know Laura, you know that grass doesn’t grow under her feet! 😉 She’s always five steps ahead of the rest of us, full of cheerful energy, and ready to turn an idea into something extraordinary. Her talent for event planning has earned her a reputation as the BEST Event Coordinator around, and if you’ve ever seen her work her magic, you know that “title” is well deserved!

From passionately pursuing new CASA partners to making sure every CASA event and initiative is a success, Laura pours so much of herself into our mission. As an added bonus, she does it all with a kind heart, a big smile, and a genuine passion for helping CASA make a difference in the lives of the children we serve. We are so lucky to have her on our team!!

**We can’t celebrate Laura without also giving a little love to her wonderful husband Glenn, who faithfully volunteers alongside her and supports our CASA family, too! ❤️ Behind this incredible duo is a shared heart for serving others, and we are so grateful for both of them.
