9/1/2026 — Smyrna, Hindsville Rural Fire Department and Huntsville Fire Department were toned to a baler fire.

Upon arrival, crews made a quick knockdown, stopping the fire from spreading into the hay barn, which contained approximately 250 bales. Crews also coordinated efforts to extinguish approximately 5 acres of grass that had caught fire.

The burning hay bales were relocated away from the barn, and a fire line was cut to prevent further spread.

Thank you to all of the responding fire departments, Madison County Sheriff’s Office, dispatch, and Arkansas Forestry for their assistance.
