*DRILL NIGHT*

This evening, crews explored new options on drafting and fill site operations.

With the rural setting we have in 80 percent of our district, water supply isn’t accessible. This is where mutual aid tanker shuttles come into play.
Hauling water to the fire scene can be long and tedious, but with enough help from surrounding agencies and counties, short work can be made of it.

National Volunteer Firefighters Recognition Day is celebrated annually on August 18. First proclaimed in 1984 by President Ronald Reagan, this day honors the courage, sacrifice, and vital work of the men and women who protect their communities through local volunteer fire and rescue departments.

Our men and women have answered the call for over 40 years.
Night, Day, Church, School, T-Ball Games…..they get up to answer the call.
With every year, our department gets stronger and larger with calls for service, volunteers coming onboard and now we have a duty crew at Station 41, 7 days a week from 7 A - 7 P.
Having said this, in October, there will be a duty crew at Station 43 in Pine Prairie with the same schedule. Both of our stations will be covered during the hours that a majority of our Volunteers work their full time jobs during the day time hours.

No matter what the call or what time the call happens…..your Volunteers will be there when the call comes in.

Protecting The Prairie always comes first!

HISD starts tomorrow. Be mindful and courteous of those trying to get their children to school, especially the busses that stop to pick up and drop off those children.
With this being said, this little reminder below is kinda like “The Golden Rule”.

Be kind 💛

IT’S SCARY IN THE PRAIRIE 🎃

We are preparing for our annual event in Crabb’s Prairie brought to you by your Volunteer Firefighters of the CPVFD.

With several business partnerships like HEB, multiple public safety entities and other organizations like The Peyton Irwin Foundation, this event is always a hit with the children and parents of our community.

Since 2020, the Crabb’s Prairie Volunteer Fire Department has hosted this community event with the notion to give back to our community and grow a stronger bond with the citizens we serve on a daily basis.

Having said this, make plans to join us on October 25, 2026 from 530 PM till 730 PM at 28 FM 1696, Huntsville, TX 77320.
This location is Crabb’s Prairie VFD Station 41.

Come join us for Fun, Food and Fellowship with your Firefighters 🚒

Here we are….TGIF!

Friday’s Firefighter is Haley Boehm.

Haley joined our department last year and has been one that you’ve seen on our scenes a lot.
Despite working all day, she’s one of the first ones on the truck when the pager goes off.
Haley is currently in EMT school to better her skills and help her community she lives in.

Thank you, Haley
