TDCJ - Huntsville Unit in action 🫡

The Sam Houston Memorial Museum & Republic of Texas Presidential Library welcomed the TDCJ - Huntsville Unit groundskeeping crew as work continued on the Guerrant Cabin! 👷‍♂️🪵 The team cleared out the concrete filling between the logs that was causing damage and added new batten inside the cabin pens.

This landmark stands as a reminder of Walker County history and decades of partnership between SHSU and TDCJ. The collaboration supports preservation across the museum’s 15 acres and gives inmates practical trade experience they can use in future careers.

Next on the list: a new roof and chimneys! 🏡⚒️

🏐The Huntsville Unit hosted a Volleyball Tournament featuring six teams competing through teamwork, discipline, and determination. 🏋🏽‍♂️

🏅🏟While only one team could walk away with the win, the real victory was seeing individuals come together, compete with purpose, and demonstrate that positive choices and healthy competition can make a difference.

🤝🏼Activities like this provide an opportunity to build teamwork, accountability, respect, and self-discipline—qualities that extend far beyond the court.

🎊 CONGRATULATIONS TO THE WINNERS 🎊
