September 1, 2026 marked an important milestone in the implementation of Senate Bill 1080 from the 89th Texas Legislature! 🌟

Through collaboration with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, qualifying graduates of programs in regulated trades afforded by Windham and partnering institutions of higher education in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice may now be issued occupational licenses prior to reentry, helping to reduce barriers and further strengthening the connection between education and meaningful employment.

Five campuses. Five graduations. Countless milestones worth celebrating. 🎓

Windham School District and The Goodwill Excel Center recently celebrated graduates at the TDCJ - Billy Moore Unit, Coleman, TDCJ - John B. Connally Unit, TDCJ - Diboll/Duncan Complex and TDCJ - Mark W. Stiles Unit campuses. Each ceremony recognized Goodwill Excel graduates who earned their high school diplomas as well as Windham graduates who earned their high school equivalency and career and technical education certificates.

Among those attending the celebrations were Windham School District Board of Trustee Pastor Nate Sprinkle, Texas State Representative Christian Manuel and Texas Workforce Investment Council Executive Director Kaki Lyons who joined graduates, families and staff at the Stiles ceremony to celebrate these important achievements.

The district appreciates its partnership with the Goodwill Excel Center in recognizing the hard work and determination that made these accomplishments possible.

Congratulations to all of our graduates!
