Is the weather creating havoc for your neighborhood, yard or home. Tell us about it at https://tinyurl.com/BadWeatherSurvey

Last week, I sent a letter to Governor Hochul on behalf of the New York State Association of Counties (NYSAC) urging her to sign the Solar Up Now New York (SUNNY) Act, which would remove unnecessary regulatory barriers to small “plug-in” solar panels that meet national safety standards. This bill will make these systems easier, less costly, and more convenient to deploy, and will promote affordable access to solar for our residents and businesses while reducing pressure to site solar on farmland.

We ask that Governor Hochul sign this bill this summer to advance New York’s climate and affordability goals, and give New Yorkers greater control over their utility bills.

Thank you to A. Douglas Berwanger, Chair of the Wyoming County Board of Supervisors and Chair of the NYSAC Standing Committee on Agriculture, Economic Development & Rural Affairs for co-signing this letter.

This might be behind a paywall. News is that while great and necessary for Monarch butterfies, MILKWEED can be very toxic to these bugs. Everything from birds and spiders to mantises, snakes, and yellowjackets are now feasting on spotted lanternflies.. so let's double-down on creating those pollinator gardens!

Early research suggests that a backyard plant might poison the invasive species.
