Members of the Hurst FD Technical Rescue Team have been putting in work all week!

Over the past 4 days, firefighters completed a Tower Safety and Rescue course led by RAKM Safety and Rescue. This intensive training focuses on responding to high-angle emergencies on large towers, cranes, and other massive vertical structures.

From advanced rigging and high-altitude patient packaging to overcoming mental and physical fatigue, this class pushes our technical rescue technicians through strenuous real-world scenarios.

This is a huge accomplishment for these members and we're proud of the dedication to continuously working on their skills and staying prepared for any emergency. Great work completing this course!

Help us welcome our new Engine 201 into service at the Engine 201 Push-In Ceremony on July 17! 💛

This engine marks a special moment in Hurst. You’ll notice it looks a little different this time. Hurst is returning to its historic yellow fire apparatus, honoring the longtime tradition that defined our fleet for decades. Our last in-service yellow unit will complete its 20 years of service once the new Engine 201 is officially pushed-in to operation.

Engine 201 will be housed at Fire Station 1 and features all-electric tools, brand new hose, and updated equipment. As we have traditionally operated, this engine will serve on the front line for 10 years, then an additional 10 years in reserve service.

📅 July 17 | 8:30 a.m.
📍 Fire Station 1 (2100 Precinct Line Rd.)
