🎃🤫 Tiptoeing Through October… 🤫🎃

Around here, we’re tiptoeing through October like we’re trying not to wake the ghosts… or draw too much attention to those PINK PATCHES! 💗👻

Between Halloween shenanigans, Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and Friday Night Lights, our officers are doing their best to keep things spooky, safe, and just a little bit stealthy. 🏈🚔

If you see Chief Gauvin sneaking around like this, don’t worry… he’s just making sure the treats are safe, the lights are on, and the Hippos are ready for game night! 😂

💗 Pink patches for a purpose.
🎃 Halloween spirit in full swing.
🏈 Friday Night Lights are calling.
🤫 And remember… sometimes the best way through October is to tiptoe!

Have a safe and spooktacular weekend, Hippo Nation! 🦛💙💛

🚔🚒🚑 **Community Helpers Day at Cottonwood Creek Elementary!** 💙

What a great opportunity for our students to meet the everyday heroes who help keep our community safe!

Sgt. Fischetti and Officer Darnell from the Hutto ISD Police Department were proud to join our partners from the Hutto Police Department, Williamson County EMS, Hutto Fire and Rescue, and the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office for Community Helpers Day at Cottonwood Creek Elementary School.

Events like these give students the chance to learn about the important roles our first responders play in the community, ask questions, explore the world of public safety, and build positive relationships with the people who serve them every day.

School-based law enforcement is about so much more than enforcing the law. It’s about being mentors, educators, trusted resources, and positive role models for our students. Opportunities like this help build trust, strengthen relationships, and remind our youngest community members that the people behind the badges, uniforms, and emergency vehicles are here to help! ❤️

A big thank-you to Cottonwood Creek Elementary for hosting this event and to all of our community partners for taking the time to invest in our students. When we work together, we build a stronger, safer community for everyone!

**One community. One team. A brighter future for our students!** 🐾💙

🚔📚 **More Than Law Enforcement — We’re Educators, Mentors, and Partners!** 🐾💙

Today, Officers Vasquez and Willard had the opportunity to teach the statutorily required *Interacting with Police* course at Hutto High School!

One of the most unique and rewarding aspects of being a school-based law enforcement officer is that our mission extends far beyond enforcing the law. We have the privilege of building relationships, mentoring students, educating our future leaders, and helping young people better understand the world around them.

Through opportunities like this, our officers can replace uncertainty with understanding, build trust through meaningful conversations, and show students that law enforcement is about far more than responding to emergencies. It’s about relationships, service, and making a positive difference every single day.

At Hutto ISD Police Department, we believe the best opportunities to make an impact often happen outside of an emergency. Whether we’re teaching in a classroom, offering guidance in a hallway, or responding when someone needs help, our officers are committed to being positive role models and trusted members of the Hippo community.

A big thank-you to Officers Vasquez and Willard for investing their time, knowledge, and hearts into our students! We’re proud to have officers who understand that **protecting our students means more than keeping them safe — it means helping them learn, grow, and succeed.** 🦛💙

Chief Gauvin attended the New Chief Development Program at the Bill Blackwood Law Enforcement Management Institute of Texas (LEMIT) in Huntsville, Texas, last week.

The program provides high-quality instruction, valuable leadership development, and practical insights designed to help police chiefs navigate the responsibilities and challenges of leading a law enforcement agency. The caliber of instruction and the opportunity to learn from experienced professionals and fellow law enforcement leaders make this training an invaluable experience.

Leadership is a commitment to lifelong learning. Even as chiefs gain experience, continuing education is essential to staying current with best practices, strengthening leadership skills, and finding new ways to serve their officers and communities effectively.

We commend Chief Gauvin for investing in professional development and recognizing that effective leadership means never stopping learning.

🚔 Fall Break = Training Time! 💙💛

While the kiddos are enjoying their fall break, our Hutto ISD Police Department officers are continuing the training theme and sharpening the skills that help us protect our Hippo Nation! 🦛

Today, the team from Ally Medical joined us to refresh our knowledge and skills in CPR, first aid, and Stop the Bleed. These are critical, lifesaving skills that can make all the difference when seconds count and someone needs help.

Being prepared means more than training for the worst-case scenario. It also means being ready to respond to everyday medical emergencies and provide help when our students, staff, or community members need us most.

A HUGE thank-you to Ally Medical for taking the time to invest in our officers and help us stay prepared! We appreciate your partnership and commitment to keeping our community safe. 👏

Train today. Be ready tomorrow. Protect Hippo Nation. 💙💛

🛡️ Preparation Today. Protection Tomorrow. 💙💛

While our students and staff enjoy fall break, our Hutto ISD Police Department officers are putting in the work to ensure they are prepared for the moments we hope will never come.

Today, our officers participated in ballistic shield training, sharpening their skills, building confidence, and preparing to respond when seconds matter most.

In school-based law enforcement, preparation means more than hoping for the best. It means training for the worst, staying ready, and being prepared to act decisively when the safety of our students, staff, and community is on the line.

We know that behind every training exercise are the people who matter most: our children, our educators, our families, and the community we are honored to serve. That responsibility drives us to keep learning, keep training, and keep getting better.

Our commitment doesn’t take a break, even when school is out. Because protecting Hippo Nation means doing the work today to be ready for tomorrow.

Train with purpose. Prepare with intention. Serve with heart. 💙💛

💙 **No Job Too Big. No Job Too Small.**

Shoutout to Officers Ross and Vasquez for rolling up their sleeves and helping our custodial staff clean the cafeteria after morning breakfast! 👏🧹

At Hutto ISD Police Department, service goes far beyond the badge. It’s about teamwork, humility, and a willingness to help wherever we’re needed. Whether protecting our campuses or picking up a broom, **no task is beneath us when the mission is to serve others.**

True leadership isn’t just about what you say—it’s about what you do. Proud to see our officers living out the Hippo way! 🦛💙

**One team. One mission. Service above self.**
