Huxley Fire and Rescue provides Fire, EMS, and Ambulance services. We are a volunteer department with paid-on-call staff for our Ambulance service.

The Fire Department serves the eastern half of Palestine Township - to include the City of Huxley. Our EMS Division and Ambulance also serves the Palestine Township - to include the City of Huxley and the City of Slater. We are on-call 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. We run over 300 calls for service per year. We are ALWAYS looking for people interested in joining Huxley Fire and Rescue! Please send us a message if you are interested and visit our website at:

It was a busy week for us: SOG meeting, business meeting, association meeting, truck checks, met with two different daycares and scooped ice cream at Fabled Popcorn Co to celebrate Fire Prevention week. Here are some of the pictures recapping the fun we had. Thank you to our wonderful volunteers for your time committed to this department!

Thank you to the Huxley Fire and Rescue crew who came out today for our annual hose testing. They gave it their all and spent part of their Saturday away from their families for this important task. We appreciate your time, committment, and teamwork for the department!

Thank you to our crew for an amazing September! We had 32 calls, grain bin rescue training, emergency airways training, the farmer's market touch-a-truck event, two Ballard Home Football games, a homecoming parade and a community event with the girl scouts. Our crew put in a lot of hours not just on calls, but in community events as well. We appreciate all of their dedication!

Today, our crew had a good time providing some public education and community engagement with the local Daisies Girl Scouts at Fabled Popcorn Co. The Daisies were working on earning their Make the World a Better Place petal and Safety Award. We appreciate the invite!

We had a fun time up at the Touch-a-Truck event at the farmers market tonight. Saw quite a few kiddos come through. Thank you to the crew for taking time out of your day for this event. We always enjoy getting out in our community 💛 🚒 🚑

Huxley Fire & Rescue Remembers McKenna

Tomorrow marks one year since McKenna left this world far too soon.

A year may pass, but it doesn’t erase a name, a smile, a memory, or the place someone holds in the hearts of the people who love them.

McKenna is remembered.
Tomorrow. Today. And every day.

As a fire & rescue family, we know that being there for one another doesn’t end when the call is over. We stand beside our own through the good days, the hard days, and the days when words simply aren’t enough.

To her family, please know this: you never have to walk through this alone. We are family, and we will always be here.

Forever in our hearts, McKenna. 💕

We are overwhelmed and so thankful for all of your support at our hog roast yesterday. With your gratitude we were able to raise just over $13k for our ambulance's Stryker Power Cot replacement. We are blown away by the support and sense of community! There were so many smiling faces, the camaraderie was in full force and we thoroughly enjoyed getting a chance to talk with so many of you. From the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU 💛
