On Tuesday, October 13, 2026, Detective Chris Botsford and his partner, K9 Evie located a key piece of digital evidence in a remote area in Wareham, MA. Utilizing limited information, Detective Botsford and K9 Evie were able to search a large wooded area and found the discarded device in a thickly wooded area that had already been checked by other officers. K9 Evie is trained to locate cellphones, laptops, tablets, hard drives, USB flash drives, micro-SD cards, hidden cameras, trackers, and other data-storage devices.
K9 Evie is a 2-year-old Labrador Retriever born in Ohio and trained by Jordan Detection K9 to locate the chemical signatures associated with electronic storage devices, Triphenylphosphine oxide (TPPO). K9 Evie was sponsored by the U.S. Secret Service and the National Computer Forensics Institute (NCFI).
Great work Detective Botsford and K9 Evie!
