Feel too guilty to report a campfire next door? You could be the one person that is able to stop a massive fire disaster. It’s so dry. Won’t take a few embers much time to start a fire.

Even though winds will be lighter on Sunday, the combination of afternoon relative humidity values ranging from 25 to 35 percent and dry grasses and stressed trees will promote an environment prone to wildfire ignitions. Please follow your county or parish burn ban guidance.

While out hunting with the youth this weekend teach them how to find their GPS coordinates on their phone. It could save a life someday.

A strong cold front will usher in very dry air on Friday through the weekend with relative humidity between 25 to 40 percent and winds gusting out of the north up to 30 mph at times. A Fire Weather Watch is in effect with the threat of rapid start and spread of wildfires.

Absolutely do not burn anything.

A Fire Weather Watch is quite rare for our region with Gulf moisture typically abundant as observed for much of this week. However, a strong cold front will arrive on Friday and usher in very dry air along with gusty north winds, prompting the issuance of a Fire Weather Watch.
