Today, we recognize and appreciate love, sacrifice, and dedication of mothers everywhere.
A special thank you to the mothers serving within Idyllwild Fire Protection District, the mothers of our personnel, and the mothers who stand alongside our firefighters in raising families while balancing the demands of fire service life.
Fire service schedules often requires long hours, missed celebrations, and unpredictable schedules. Behind many of our firefighters is a strong support system helping keep families thriving.
From all of us at Idyllwild Fire Protection District, Happy Mother’s Day. 🌼

We always enjoy time at Idyllwild School TK-8!
Today the Idyllwild Career Firefighters and Volunteer Fire Company came to flip burgers for the Idyllwild School students. The students and staff presented a signed banner and baked goods to the firefighters to thank them for their generous donation to the school of two brand new barbeques, and also to show appreciation for their hard work and bravery in protecting Idyllwild.

Snow attracts visitors to our mountain community, but blocked roads delay emergency response when seconds matter.
Idyllwild Fire Protection District reminds residents and visitors:
• Stay out of the roadway — sledding and playing in the street puts lives at risk
• Keep emergency access clear so fire engines, ambulances, and law enforcement can get through
• Do not block traffic or park in no-parking zones
• If your vehicle becomes stuck, stay with it and call for assistance — do not walk in traffic lanes
✔ Check road conditions before traveling: Caltrans QuickMap
✔ Carry chains and know how to use them
✔ Have warm clothing, food, water, and a charged phone
✔ Park only in designated areas
✔ Respect residents and stay off private property
✔ Do not litter. Take your trash with you.
Let’s keep Idyllwild safe for everyone.
