Gorgeous October sunset.

After the heavy rains of tropical storm rachel, we have finally had seasonal weather the last week.

I mean come on there's even been a couple of chilly nights! 🎃 Feels good to finally have some fresher weather!

An area of heavy rainfall is moving northward towards El Centro.

Flooding is possible so make sure to use extreme caution if out driving. Strong gusty winds will also be possible with these storms!

Brawley and Imperial should also prepare along with north end communities!

Lots of lightning and thunder around our area tonight! Expect on and off heavy thunderstorms into tomorrow morning. Important to note that not every area will get heavy rain. Nonetheless conditions can change rapidly!

There remains a small but notable chance of severe storms which could bring very isolated tropical tornadoes 🌪️ within the green area on the first image. And as you can see this includes the eastern half of Imperial County!

And the NHC now has Imperial County and the Imperial Valley between 30% - 50% chance of seeing tropical storm force wind speeds tonight into Sunday!

Already seeing scattered T Storms and Showers well ahead of today!

Best chances for rain will be tonight-Sunday morning as windy conditions settle in with gusts 40-50 mph at times.

A few strong to severe storms will also be possible into tonight!

The latest NHC forecast has Rachel at Tropical Storm strength directly over the Imperial Valley with winds around 45 MPH and gusts up to 60MPH!

Make sure your Halloween Decorations are secured!

Here is the latest update regarding tropical storm Rachel out in the pacific. Models are still struggling to pinpoint exactly where Rachel will make landfall and where the most significant rainfall will occur.

One thing's for sure is that there will be significant rainfall and gusty winds...

As of right now the cone of uncertainty has moved a bit West to include all of Imperial County once again. This comes after earlier forecast today had moved the cone a little bit more East into Yuma county.

Things will continue to shift probably into Saturday, in which we will have better confidence in where significant impacts will be!
