☀️ Celebrating Our Amazing Cross Cubs! 🧡

Today, we celebrated the hard work and achievements of our TK through 5th grade students at our Awards Ceremony!

Our Cubs were recognized for Student of the Month, Citizenship, Grit & Growth Mindset, Capturing Kids’ Hearts (CKH) Empathy and Self-Direct Awards, Honor Roll, and Honor Society!

We are so proud of our Cubs and the dedication they show every day! A heartfelt thank you to our families for their continued love and support, and to our amazing teachers and staff for helping our students learn, grow, and succeed!

Remember, Cubs! Every month is a new opportunity to shine! Keep working hard, showing your CKH character traits, and being great friends, students, and citizens. You could be next!

Congratulations to all our award recipients! 🧡

☀️ Great things happen when our teachers collaborate! 🧡

Our 1st, 3rd, and 5th grade teachers came together to collaborate on writing instruction, sharing ideas and strategies to help our Cubs become stronger, more confident writers!

By working together and learning from one another, our teachers continue finding ways to strengthen instruction and support student success.

Teamwork makes a difference, both inside and outside the classroom! 🧡

☀️ Fire Safety at Cross Elementary! 🧡

Today, our Cross Cubs enjoyed an exciting and educational visit from the Imperial Fire Department!

Students learned about fire prevention, evacuation plans, and the importance of recognizing and reporting fire hazards. They even watched a firefighter put on full protective gear in under 60 seconds, helping our Cubs understand that firefighters are there to help, not to be feared! We also had a special visit from Sparky the Fire Dog!

An important reminder for our Cross families: Take time to create a fire escape plan at home with your Cubs! Talk about what to do if a fire occurs, identify safe exit routes, and practice your plan together.

A huge thank you to the Imperial Fire Department for helping keep our Cubs informed, prepared, and safe! 🧡

🧡 Together We Stand Against Bullying! 🧡

Today, our Cross Cubs wore orange in celebration of Unity Day, joining schools across the nation in spreading a powerful message of kindness, acceptance, and inclusion!

Unity Day reminds us that everyone deserves to feel safe, welcomed, and valued. By wearing orange, our Cubs showed that we stand together against bullying and believe in treating others with kindness and respect.

Because at Cross, kindness isn’t just for one day. It’s something we practice every day! 🧡

🍭 A sweet way to celebrate culture and creativity! 🧡

Our 2nd Grade Dual Language Immersion Cubs had some delicious fun on Friday with a Paleta Payaso activity!

Students got creative by coloring and decorating their very own Paleta Payaso artwork, inspired by the popular Mexican chocolate-covered marshmallow treat with a colorful candy face!

It was a fun way to bring art, language, and a little sweetness together while celebrating a familiar treat from Mexican culture.

¡Qué dulce diversión! 🧡

☀️ Little sounds, big learning in Room 10! 🧡

Our Cubs in Room 10 were hard at work practicing consonant-vowel-consonant (CVC) words and identifying words with similar sounds!

Through these activities, our young learners are strengthening their phonemic awareness, listening skills, and early reading foundations.

Keep up the great work, Room 10! 🧡

☀️ We’ve been having a gourd time in Room 5!🧡

Our Cubs celebrated Pumpkin Week with lots of fall fun! From learning and exploring to making special memories together, our little learners had a pumpkin-filled week!

Room 5 wanted to share some of the fun with our Cross community, and we couldn’t keep all this cuteness to ourselves!

What a fun way to celebrate the fall season! 🧡
