Notice to visitors to the Historic Inyo County Courthouse:

From the Public Works Department:
Starting Monday, October 19th, the Independence Courthouse Front Door Restoration Project will begin!
During the project, the historic front doors will be removed, so there will be no access through the front entrance of the Courthouse. Please know access is available via the North, South, or East entrances to the building.
The project is expected to last approximately 3–8 weeks.
Your patience, understanding, and cooperation is appreciated as we work to restore and preserve the beautiful front doors of the historic Inyo County Courthouse. We’re excited to see this project come to life!

Inyo County Elections — making voting more convenient for Inyo County voters!

🗳️ Inyo County Elections has installed a new exterior ballot drop box available 24/7 during elections at 168 N. Edwards Street, Independence, CA, located by the County Administrative Office parking lot, on the southside of the courthouse. This new exterior drop box replaces the former drop box located upstairs inside the courthouse, which was available only during business hours.

Please remember to sign your envelope before returning your ballot. Your returned vote by mail ballot cannot be accepted without your signature confirmed.
