Week three ended with a trip to the Englewood Theater to view the Art Deco architecture and experience glass blowing at the Englewood Arts Center. Then in the evening the students shared their talents with face painting during the Talent Show. There is no better way to spend the month of June that with all of these talented students! A huge shout out to Deanne Skedel for working with our students on figure drawing and being a "personal" tour and inspiration in Englewood! Deanne, you are amazing!

Week two is behind us and what a week! We attended the Dinner Theater, Powell Gardens, and had Holly Schenk work with students on an abstract painting in honor of our theme, The Vortex!

What a first week for the Fine Arts Scholars! We worked in oil paint, pastel, charcoal, and acrylic paint while starting a plein air painting, working on mannequin and figure drawings, and completing a pastel painting. On top of that, we went to the Nelson Art Gallery and got to dine in a replicia of a 15th century Italian courtyard. Holly Schenk and Paris Gallette-Arledge shared their expertise during class time adding to the excitement of the week!
