🚦 4-Way Red Initiative Update 🚦

Traffic signal modifications along Philadelphia Street, part of the 4-Way Red Initiative, have now been active for approximately 2Β½ months. As we adjust to the changes, we continue to work closely with our partners at PennDOT to monitor traffic flow and pedestrian crossings, making adjustments as needed to help make our downtown corridor as safe and user-friendly as possible. This will be an ongoing process.

Wondering why we can't hear Jimmy Stewart anymore? Have questions about the new signals? Talk to us! πŸ‘‹

On October 9, we'll be stationed along Philadelphia Street between 5th and 9th Streets to provide hands-on education about the new pedestrian crossing process. Stop by, ask questions, and let us walk you through the signals and crossing procedures.

With school back in session, and holiday events right around the corner, please be patient when waiting for a green light or pedestrian walk signal.

πŸ”„ Happy National Roundabouts Week 2026!
Did you know that modern roundabouts reduce intersection crashes that result in death or injury by an average of 82%? They also keep traffic moving smoothly, reducing delays by up to 74%. Before you take your next spin, remember the golden rule: slow down, look around, and be ready to yield. Traffic already in the roundabout has the right of way, so enter only when there is a safe gap. For more information on Roundabouts, check out https://highways.dot.gov/safety/proven-safety-countermeasures/roundabouts
