β˜€οΈ Camp Discovery Week 2 β˜€οΈ

This week, campers enjoyed a day of fishing, canoeing, and outdoor exploration at Camptown with the support of The MJ Companies. They also expressed their creativity through art activities while continuing to build friendships, confidence, and connections with their counselors.

We're excited to see what the rest of the summer holds!

Happy Juneteenth!

Today we honor . β€οΈπŸ’›πŸ’šπŸ–€

We serve families experiencing homelessness, and we cannot do that honestly without naming what the data shows. Black families carry the heaviest weight of housing instability in this country, and that is not an accident. It reflects generations of denied opportunity.

Our work is to make sure these families feel seen, heard, and understood, and to give them the chance at stability that should have always been theirs.

Honoring Juneteenth means more than acknowledging the day. It means showing up for the families still carrying its weight.

Happy Juneteenth from all of us at Dayspring.

Wish List Wednesday:

Camp Discovery is in full swing, and we need a little backup. Today we’re wishing for:

β€’ Purell Hand Sanitizing Wipes
β€’ Wet Wipes
β€’ Size 5 Diapers
β€’ Baby Wipes

We’ve got a lot of little ones at Dayspring right now, so diapers and wipes are the gold standard around here. Our supply closet (and our families) would be so grateful.

Will you help us out?

A big thank you to Knowledge Services for volunteering with us last night! πŸ’š Their team helped tackle several much needed projects, and we are so grateful for their continued support. Special thanks to Mykala for coordinating the opportunity and to the entire team for giving their time and energy to Dayspring!

The support of our caring board makes our mission and programs possible.

When the kids at camp needed swimsuits and clothing, Aimee, who serves on our board, bought them and brought them to Dayspring. We are so appreciative of her heart, and the whole board is just like this, continually giving. πŸ’›πŸ’›

During our 40th Anniversary year, we are honoring β€œ40 Faces of Hope”. Stories of lives touched by Dayspring and the lasting impact of a place where hope begins: their words, their story, their connection to Dayspring. Meet Bria Rudolph, Shift Supervisor at Dayspring.

Bria knows what it feels like to walk through Dayspring’s doors as a family in crisis. She was young when her family became unhoused and arrived at Dayspring. What she found stayed with her. She paid attention to the staff who showed up, to the way people were treated.

Today, Bria is one of the first faces families see when they arrive at Dayspring. Her story is a powerful reminder that kindness leaves a lasting mark and that hope has a way of coming full circle.

Week one of Camp Discovery is in the books! 🎨

This week was all about getting to know each other. Names, personalities, art projects, and a whole lot of new faces. And today? The kids took their first field trip to the farm! πŸ„πŸšœ

It’s been a really good first week for the kiddos. This is what Camp Discovery is all about.
