IMPD Northwest District

IMPD Chief Terry was our guest speaker at tonight’s Task Force Meeting. She spoke about her immense experiences she has had on the department within various units. Chief Terry also provided detailed information about the priorities of IMPD by discussing the strategic plan. After the presentation she fielded questions from those in attendance.

On May 19, IMPD Northwest District officers conducted a traffic stop on a Dodge Charger as part of an investigation into illegal street activity involving a reported burnout.

During the stop, officers determined the vehicle’s window tint measured 4%, well below the legal limit. Officers also observed bald rear tires, which may have been the result of tire spinning, and found the vehicle’s exhaust system had no mufflers or resonators installed. Additionally, officers detected a strong odor of ma*****na coming from the vehicle.

As the investigation continued, officers located ma*****na and a dealing kit inside the vehicle. The driver was subsequently arrested on a dealing charge and cited for violating the illegal street activity ordinance (441-393).

Illegal street activities create significant safety hazards for motorists, passengers, and our community. We take these violations seriously and remains committed to proactively addressing these behaviors and holding those who choose to participate accountable for their actions.

Commander Lewis brought the stories to life at the Indianapolis Public Library on Moller Road! The children were captivated by the tales from the beginning and received some cool IMPD swag afterward.

While processing a crime scene and searching for fingerprints, Officer Iversen attracted the attention of a few curious spectators. Once the evidence was secured, she took a moment to interact with her fan club.
