Every so often, our Hunger Relief chefs step in to mentor the current class in our Culinary Job Training program—and last week, it was Chef Tiki's turn. She walked our students through the art of braising, one of those foundational techniques that turns a good cook into a confident professional.

The proof is on the plate. 👀 Check out the students' final dishes below—we're seriously impressed.

Welcome to Camp Second Helpings, our summer-long volunteer adventure! From now through August 28, every new station you try earns a unique embroidered patch. Prep veggies? That's a Veggie Patch. Work the tilt skillets? Tilt Skillet Patch. Ride along on a food rescue route? Driver Patch. Collect as many as you can all summer long.

Longtime volunteer? Try a station you've never done. New to us? Your first patch is waiting. Families are welcome too—and yes, there's a s'mores celebration at the end. 🔥
