Mid-North Food Pantry will be expanding its hours to help families stock their kitchens as schools let out for summer break.

You can visit the pantry on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays year-round from 10 a.m. to noon. From June 6 to July 25, you will also be able to go on Saturdays.

You can go once per week. Mid-North Food Pantry is located at 3333 N. Meridian St.

Food Rescue Driver Needed

Do you have a vehicle and a heart for helping fight hunger? Mid-North Food Pantry is looking for a volunteer driver to help pick up donated food from Aldi on Fridays.

This important food rescue partnership helps bring additional groceries to our pantry for neighbors experiencing food insecurity.

Beginning in June, Mid-North Food Pantry will be open every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. throughout the summer (except July 4 weekend), in addition to our regular pantry hours every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. If you or someone you know may need extra support this summer, we are here to help.

To make Summer Saturday pantries possible, we are actively seeking:

- Volunteers to assist with set-up, registration, distribution, and clean-up
- Financial supporters to help cover the cost of food, operations, and expanded services during the summer months.

Volunteer Driver Needed: Friday Pick-Ups

We are looking for a reliable volunteer driver with an SUV or truck to help us make weekly food pick-ups from our community partner,
Aldi.

📍 When: Every Friday around 9:30 a.m.
📍 What: Pick up food and deliver it to Mid-North Food Pantry

This simple but important role helps us keep food moving and shelves stocked for the families we serve.

☀️ Saturday pantries are BACK this summer, and we need your help! ☀️

With SunBucks not being funded and kids out of school, we know summer can be especially tough for families. That’s why Mid-North Food Pantry is bringing back Saturday pantry hours this summer to help fill the gap when families need it most.

But we can’t do it without volunteers.

We need help with:
🥫 Set up: 8-9:45 am
🛒 Distribution: 9:45 am -12 pm
🧹 Clean up: 12-1 pm
💻 Registration 9:45-12 pm (especially if you’re comfortable using a computer!)

No experience necessary! Just a willingness to help neighbors in need.

This semester, we’ve been incredibly lucky to have two amazing interns, Sophie and Liam, as part of the Mid-North Food Pantry team! 💙

🌱 Garden Volunteer Help Needed This Saturday! 🌱

We’re rolling up our sleeves and getting our garden ready for the season, and we could use a few extra hands!

📅 Saturday, May 9
⏰ 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
👥 Volunteers Needed: 5–7 total

This Saturday’s projects include:
🪴 Removing old garden bed frames
🕳️ Digging post holes
🪚 Building and installing new raised garden beds
🌿 Adding and amending soil in the new beds

This volunteer shift is best suited for teens and adults, as the work will be more physically demanding (digging, lifting, building). While we love little helpers, this one isn’t the best fit for young children.

If you’d like to help us create a stronger garden space that will support fresh food for our community, we’d love to have you join us!
