Fall break looked a little different for our students this year!

Seniors from every one of our high schools went on senior trips, including a tour of Central State University during homecoming weekend, not to forgot a road trip to Nashville, and a visit to the University of Cincinnati for others . And students learned about the Underground Railroad at a history museum, tried welding with the Latinas Welding Guild, had fun at Combat Ops, and packed care packages for neighbors experiencing homelessness.

Charlotte, a freshman, summed it up: “We made care packages for the poor to help people because everyone deserves love and affection.”

A big thank you to Dream Alive and the Latinas Welding Guild for being great fall break partners!

When he moved to Indiana from California, Taevon only knew an environment built on violence and and chaos.

"I didn't think much of it other than this is my only way of life, the only way I knew."

That is, until Elevate showed Taevon a different way - a way filled with opportunity, support, and motivation to succeed.

During his time in Elevate, Taevon gained career exposure to help him identify a path for postsecondary success. He also developed crucial such as like financial literacy and "how to come about certain situations the right way," giving him the confidence and support to pursue upward mobility.

Now, just two years after graduating, Taevon works in construction and runs his own business, which he began while still in high school.

"Now, I'm making three forms of income with a house and a car in my name at 19," Taevon said.

Taevon credits his Teacher-Mentor relationships with helping him prepare for the future and make the right decisions in life.

"Elevate has helped me find the kind of man I want to be, helped me graduate by giving me moentors that instilled certain values in me that I still hold now."

Indiana Prosperity 2035 talks about the importance of developing talent.
For us, talent development is personal.
It's a relationship that lasts long after high school.

As alumni like Taevon continue to navigate the challenges of adulthood, our team continues to provide caring support and guidance to show them that they don't have to face these challenges alone.

The values and life skills we teach are ones that students can carry with them long after graduation. And, the meaningful relationships they form with their Teacher-Mentors help them stay on track toward lifelong wellbeing.

A present, supportive community helps our students feel seen, known, heard, and loved.

Our 2026 Vision Breakfast is a chance for community partners and supporters to show up for Elevate students as they share their goals for postsecondary success. Several of our Class of 2027 seniors will be sharing their Elevate experience at the Vision Breakfast, reminding us of the deep impact of our mission. We are so inspired by their hard work and resilience, and by being present with them, we remind them that we are rooting for their success.

Interested in attending the Vision Breakfast? Please contact Heather Encinia at [email protected] to inquire about attendance and available seating.

One certification at a time, our students are building steps that show exactly where they’re headed.

Students like Lillia.

Lillia attended one of our vision trips to One America to learn more about possible career options. In doing so, she gained valuable networking opportunities and insight into what she may want to do in the future.

"I learned that I possibly want to get into business. I also noticed that I enjoyed talking to the college students there, and realized that I enjoyed communication quite a bit," Lillia said.

Vision trips teach our students about what career options are available to them - but they also help our students discover what they're passionate about.

As Lillia continues to explore options for the future, her Teacher-Mentors will be there to provide guidance, resources, and support to help her achieve her postsecondary goals.

"I have been able to understand more about myself, and the different career options that can be back-up options, or stepping stones to what I want to do in my future," Lillia said.

Indiana Prosperity 2035 identifies the need to increase the share of Hoosiers with high-quality credentials to build the talent pipeline Indiana needs.

We see the future talent pipeline of Indiana every day - in our classrooms, walking the hallways, and in our neighborhoods.

By offering career exploration, internship, and employability skills training to students like Lillia, Elevate empowers them to begin planning for the bright futures they deserve.

Earlier this week, Elevate students from George Washington and Arsenal Tech participated in an Advanced Pathways to Purpose Mentoring workshop, building real skills and real confidence for what’s next while also getting headshots and setting up LinkedIn accounts!

This is Youth Workforce Development the Elevate way: long-term relationships, mentoring, and helping students turn purpose into a plan.

📸 Proud of Arleth, an Elevate senior at Tech, for capturing these moments!

What will Indiana need to prosper over the next decade?

The Indiana Chamber Foundation recently sharpened its statewide vision, Indiana Prosperity 2035, into 18 measurable priorities.

One stood out to us:

Every high school graduate should leave with a designated path toward enrollment, employment, or enlistment.

At Elevate, that is the heart of Pathways to Purpose.

We help students explore possibilities, discover their strengths, experience college and careers, earn credentials, build plans, and take their next steps.

Last year, 96% of our seniors completed a Two-Year Action Plan so they can confidently begin pursuing upward mobility immediately following graduation.

This October, we'll share more about how Elevate is helping build the next generation Indiana needs.
