Butler University Police K-9

Bear, an English Labrador, is the second EOD K-9 member of the Butler University Police Department. Bear has been a huge asset to keeping the community safe.

Marcus, a Labrador mix, is a member of the Butler University Police Department (BUPD). Marcus is an EOD K9 (an Explosive Ordinance Detection Bomb Dog). He is used for sweeps of Hinkle Fieldhouse and Clowes Memorial Hall, and other campus facilities, before high-profile events. K9 Bear was the grand Marshall for his third year in a row for the Bulldog Jog and got a beautiful cake that also honored his brother Marcus ❤️ this made our hearts happy knowing these boys are thought so much of. Thank you Karen it is a privilege for both Sgt Downs and Bear to be included each year!!

One of the best guys in the K9 world Jon Erwin. When Sgt Downs was in handler school at Von Liche, Jon was in trainer school and when Sgt Downs was in trainer school Jon was hired as a trainer at Von Liche. Many years of training together, being a mentor and a life long friend.
