They talked about the career of fighting fire, what we do in the 24 hours that we are at the firehouse, keeping focus on your goals and dreams, also staying positive.
The mission and vision of the organization was discussed along with the importance of inclusion and equality. Everyone was able to ask questions and see the gear.

🚨MEMBER OF THE MONTH🚨 ( OFFICER)
Battalion Chief Ato McTush has dedicated more than 32 years to public service, including over 20 years with the Indianapolis Fire Department.
His journey began in 1994 as a volunteer EMT with the Wayne Township Fire Department, inspired by a deeply personal moment—witnessing his grandmother suffer a cerebrovascular accident. That experience set him on a lifelong path of service and care for others.
He went on to work as a private service ambulance EMT before answering another call to serve—enlisting in the United States Army in 1996 as a 91B Medical Specialist. During his military career, he rose to the rank of Specialist, served as a Flight Medic, and deployed to Kosovo in support of Operation Joint Guardian.
After returning home to Indianapolis in 2000, he continued serving his community with Wishard Hospital Ambulance Service while completing the Community Hospital Paramedic Certification Program. In 2002, he was hired by Brownsburg Fire Territory as a Firefighter/Paramedic.
In 2006, he joined the Indianapolis Fire Department, where he has led with distinction in both Operations and Administration. Over the years, he has served as a Company Officer, EMS Duty Officer, Public Information Officer, and Logistics Division Captain.
Through every role, Chief McTush has remained committed to leadership, service, and the mission of protecting and caring for the community.
