Weekend Drill Child Care is now live in Indiana!

Eligible Indiana Army National Guard Soldiers can now request no-cost child care during covered drill weekends.

Quick Facts
- Children 6 weeks to 12 years
- Up to 12 hours per child, per day (0600–1800)
- MUTA 1, 2, 4 and 6, including properly rescheduled drill
- No paying up front, no reimbursement paperwork

This week at the Association of the United States Army (AUSA) Annual Meeting, Indiana’s Adjutant General and Command Sergeant Major represented the Indiana National Guard on two separate panels alongside distinguished leaders from across the Army and defense community.

With more than 40,000 attendees from around the world, this is a significant opportunity for the National Guard to be represented in critical conversations shaping the future of the force.

Discussions focused on operationalizing the warfight and what large-scale combat operations mean for the National Guard as an operational reserve, reinforcing the importance of readiness, modernization and preparing Soldiers to deploy, fight and win in a complex operational environment.

Indiana is helping shape the conversation on the future of the Army and the National Guard’s role in the fight.

More than 100 Indiana Army National Guard Soldiers gathered at Camp Atterbury for a departure ceremony as they prepared to join Joint Task Force-Southern Border in support of Operation Ardent Vanguard.

Members of the 381st Military Police Company were joined by family, friends, and community supporters who filled the building to wish the Soldiers well before their deployment.

To every Soldier answering the call to serve, and every family making sacrifices here at home: we are proud of you, grateful for you, and will be waiting to welcome you home.

CONGRATULATIONS to the Soldiers who completed the E3B and earned their badge today!

SGT Miles earned the Expert Infantryman’s Badge and SGT Greiner earned the Expert Field Medical Badge. Both are assigned to 1-151 IN BN, 76th MBCT.

A special shout out to 1SG McCarthy, SFC Miller, SFC Burke, and SGT Tluang for representing INARNG as cadre for the E3B.

These Hoosier Soldiers spent two weeks training and five days testing to finish the first ever National Guard E3B.

The Indiana National Guard was honored to celebrate Slovak Armed Forces Day at the Embassy of the Slovak Republic in Washington, D.C.! 🇺🇸🤝🏻🇸🇰

Alongside our State Partnership Program partner, Slovakia, we gathered to recognize over 30 years of shared history, trust, and military cooperation. From tactical training in Indiana to joint exercises in Slovakia, this partnership remains a vital pillar of our combined readiness and demonstrated commitment to NATO’s security.

Thank you to our hosts at the Slovak Embassy for a wonderful event celebrating this remarkable day.

Soldiers of the 381st Military Police Company trained at the Camp Atterbury Medical Simulation Training Center (MSTC) to ensure they had the skills necessary to react when it matters most.

During training the Soldiers learned to complete tactical trauma assessments then evacuate a casualty over rugged terrain using hoists and litter carries. Their skill, grit and endurance were put to the test on the litter obstacle course.

The Indiana National Guard recently hosted military leaders from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for a state partnership program planning conference focused on future training and exchange opportunities.

Representatives from the Saudi Ministry of Defense, Ministry of National Guard and Ministry of Interior worked alongside the Indiana and Oklahoma National Guard and U.S. security cooperation teams joined to shape a shared path forward through 2028.

Partnerships like this build trust, sharpen skills and strengthen readiness on both sides. The effort reflects the National Guard's growing role in U.S. security cooperation and the value Hoosier Soldiers and Airmen bring to partners around the world.

Building future military leaders 🇺🇸

Indiana’s Adjutant General, Maj. Gen. Larry Muennich, spent time this morning with candidates participating in the Officer Career Accession Program at the Regional Training Institute at Camp Atterbury.

OCAP prepares candidates for Officer Candidate School and brings together soldiers of varied experience levels to revisit and hone basic warfighting readiness tasks — preparing them mentally and physically for their future schooling.

MG Muennich offered words of encouragement, motivating the candidates to remain resilient and lead from the front!

Mission first, people always!

: This weekend Indiana National Guard Airmen and Soldiers competed in the 2026 Adjutant General’s Match, refining their r***e and pistol marksmanship alongside Guardsmen from multiple states and international partners. This year’s use of the ShotMarker system gave competitors immediate impact data, helping them adjust, improve and bring lessons back to their units.

Congratulations to Master Sgt. Ethan Chesser, 181st Intelligence Wing, who placed first, and Sgt. Samuel Ruzga, 2-151 Infantry Battalion, who finished runner-up and earned recognition among Indiana’s top shooters.

1,813 Hoosiers. Each a name, a story and a family awaiting answers.

From World War I to the present, 1,813 service members remain unaccounted for. On National POW/MIA Recognition Day, the Indiana National Guard honors those who endured captivity, remembers those still missing and stands with the families who carry their legacy forward.

Their service is remembered. Their absence is felt. They are not forgotten.
