Daniel Jaye Frieden, 80, of Greenwood passed away with his family by his side on May 6, 2026. He was born on September 7, 1945, to the late Robert E and Bonnie M Frieden.
Daniel graduated from Porter Business College and went to build a successful career in the transportation industry that included top management positions with Trailways, Greyhound, Zipp Express and Air Road Express. Daniel retired from Venture Logistics after 11 years as President and CEO where his leadership, dedication and strong work ethic were deeply valued.
Above all, Daniel, was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend. His life centered around the people he loved most, and he found great joy in the time spent with family.
Daniel enjoyed many fun filled days on the golf course with his friends and business associates and never turned down an opportunity to hit the links. His friends would attest his favorite hole; like theirs, was the 19th hole.
Daniel was a Colts season ticket holder for over 20 years and enjoyed attending with Louise and friends. Daniel also liked to attend as many of his grandson's events as possible while they were growing up and enjoyed following Tyler's collegiate football career.
Daniel was a member of the Indiana Motor Truck Association where he served on many committees and served on its Board of Directors and was a past Chairman. He worked tirelessly raising money for the TIPAC committee. He was serving as an honorary board member at the time of his passing. Daniel was a long-time member of the Hillcrest Country Club and Dye's Walk Country Club where he developed lifetime friendships.
Those who knew Daniel will remember him as a loyal friend who was always willing to help and would volunteer to get things done. He had a great sense of humor and strong work ethic which was only second to his strong sense of devotion to his family.
He is survived by his loving wife, I. Louise Frieden; his children Michelle Frieden and Jay Frieden and his wife Heather; his three grandsons, Colton (Makenna), Caden (Zoey) and Tyler, Great Grandson Bearett; his brother Ronald Frieden and his wife Laura; and his sister Karen Wilson.

A celebration of Daniel's life will be conducted at 1:00pm on Friday, May 15, 2026, at G.H. Herman Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 1605 S. State Road 135, Greenwood.
