Industrial Arts Complex The building offers a shared, track-lighted studio space for lessees, a community style lounge, and large loading doors and docks.
Remodeled and renovated from a previous Omar Bread Bakery, the historic and majestic building located of 16th and Bellefontaine, stands as a true landmark from another time on the out skirts of the theatre/arts district. The building now operates as an industrial arts complex, offering leasing space for artists' studios, metal workers, and anyone who needs a large space in which to create or opera

"I fondly remember the Omar man. Was telling my wife that as a kid in rural Indiana (Shannondale), he used to come around. Seems that I remember a loaf of bread that was half white and half dark (wheat). Also remember a radio jingle that went ” Oh Ma-a, here comes the Omar Man!”
"My dad was an Omar man. He went to work at 5:30 in the morning and get home at 9:30 at night. He became a supervisor at Corning Iowa so we moved from Omaha. Then the Manager at Spencer Iowa. It was a great service. My dad loved it and loved his customers. I have been trying to pick up some old Omar items so that I will be able to explain to my grandkids what my dad did for a living. I have several plastic Omar delivery trucks, some safe driving award pins, some literature, some Omar patches. I picked up a very rare pen and pencil set with the Omar logo on it."
Found some great memories online today of Omar Bakery!
"As children, 4 of us girls all looked forward to the Omar man coming to our door. We would also ask our mom to “Please purchase the cream filled coffee cake.” We all loved it. "
