Meet Connor Keith, one of our IT Support Analysts. He’s also proof that growth can start in unexpected places. Connor’s curiosity (sparked by video games and building his first computer at 14 turned into a career path that brought him to WVPA as a summer intern in 2024, a year at a member co-op, and then back to WVPA full-time.

Today, Connor helps keep our teams connected and productive by supporting systems that power reliable service, from resolving access issues to collaborating on bigger technical projects. And his best advice for interns? Ask all the questions.

Five years of impact. One incredible teammate. Please help us celebrate Jozette Suttle on her five year work anniversary.

Jo strengthens the systems that support our member co-ops, helping teams turn data into action and better serve communities. Her commitment shows up every day, and we are grateful for the role she plays in our mission.

Why Summer Tests the System - Wabash Valley Power Alliance 06/11/2026

Summer heat doesn’t just mean higher temperatures. It also means higher electricity demand. ⚡☀️

In our latest column, we break down why summer is the ultimate stress test for the electric system and how careful planning helps keep power reliable and costs in check when demand is at its highest.

Why Summer Tests the System - Wabash Valley Power Alliance As temperatures rise, so does demand. While that may sound simple, what’s happening behind the scenes is anything but. Unlike winter, when demand can spike and ease quickly, summer creates steady pressure.

Many of our member co-op communities make for great road trip options! 🚗✨

Noble County is the kind of place where community pride runs deep, small businesses shine, and neighbors still wave when they pass by. And honestly? That’s our favorite kind of energy.

As a member owned cooperative, we’re proud to support communities like Noble County: where local matters, economic development starts at home, and people show up for each other (no calendar invite required). That’s the cooperative difference, and Noble County wears it well.

So whether you’re exploring local shops, enjoying the outdoors, or just soaking up small town charm, consider this our heartfelt thank you to the members and communities that power everything we do. 💙

From video games to IT support. Talk about leveling up. 🎮➡️💻

Connor’s journey at Wabash Valley Power started as a summer intern and grew into a full time IT career, shaped by hands on learning, curiosity, and time spent both at WVPA and a member cooperative. His story is a great example of how cooperatives invest in people, growth, and education.

Because growth isn’t just about infrastructure. It’s about developing the next generation of problem solvers behind the scenes.

Collaboration between electric cooperatives and a local homebuilder turned into a community win.

Noble REMC and Wabash Valley Power partnered with local builder to support a new 32 unit housing development in Ligonier. The project helps address rural housing needs and opens new opportunities for growth.

We stay focused on:
• Supporting local businesses
• Expanding community and economic development support

That is how we power progress together.

Growth is a good problem to have, especially when it comes with smart energy solutions. 🏭✨

Southwark Metal Manufacturing outgrew its old facility and built a 350,000 square foot new home in McCordsville to support future growth. With help from NineStar Connect, the project included energy efficient LED lighting and occupancy sensors, supported by Power Moves energy efficiency incentives, lowering long term energy use.

This is what community impact looks like: local jobs, smarter facilities, and cooperatives working alongside businesses to support economic development: brighter, more efficient, and built for what’s next.

Behind every reliable power supply is a lot of thoughtful planning and a little strategy. ⚡♟️

At Wabash Valley Power, power supply diversity means using a balanced mix of generation sources (including traditional power plants, renewables, and wholesale market purchases) to keep electricity affordable, reliable, and adaptable for our member cooperatives.

Why does it matter? Because diversity helps manage risk, stabilize rates, and ensure we’re ready for whatever the future brings (no crystal ball required). That’s the cooperative model at work: long term thinking, shared resources, and members first.
