Please join us in welcoming Marcelo Silva, one of PHI’s newest STAR pilots!

Marcelo will be temporarily supporting our Rushville crew. He brings a wealth of diverse aviation experience to the team, including time spent piloting in the Brazilian Army, and is incredibly excited to begin his career in HEMS.
Here is Marcelo after successfully completed his first patient transport with StatFlight 3, flying from Marion General Hospital to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.

Today is national aviation maintenance technician day so today we celebrate the people behind the scenes who keep us flying safely every single day… our mechanics 🔧🚁

At StatFlight and PHI Air Medical, safety is never just a checklist, it’s a culture. The PHI safety culture and “Destination Zero” mindset is something our mechanics live out every day. Long before a crew ever lifts off, they’ve already spent countless hours making sure our aircraft are safe, reliable, and ready to respond when patients need us most.

These guys are the ones troubleshooting problems at all hours, working in the heat, cold, rain, and hangars late at night so we can continue doing what we do safely. They may not always be the ones in the photos or on the scene, but every flight depends on the work they do behind the scenes.

Today we recognize and appreciate all of our mechanics throughout Indiana and beyond. Thank you for your dedication, attention to detail, and commitment to keeping our crews and patients safe. We appreciate you more than you know. 👏💙

As we wrap up EMS Week, we ended it the best way we know how… with a cookout for our friends at Jackson County EMS, an agency SF2 works very closely with and appreciates more than they probably realize. 🚑🌭

This week was filled with basket deliveries, cookouts, laughs, long conversations, and small ways to hopefully remind EMS crews across Indiana just how much they matter. One week of recognition could never truly match everything you all do day in and day out, but we hope at least for the last week, you felt seen, appreciated, and valued.

To all EMS providers… thank you for the teamwork, the trust, the dark humor, the dedication and the countless things you do that most people never see. We are proud to work alongside you every day. 💙🚁

Help us congratulate Kerri Keyt as she is presented with her 10 year of service pin as a flight paramedic with StatFlight, a small reminder of the huge impact she’s made over the years.👏

Kerri wears a lot of hats around SF4… between handling narcotics and expired meds, serving on the peer support team, keeping everyone stocked with farm fresh eggs from her beloved chickens, and somehow becoming the official “base aesthetic consultant,” she stays busy. She’s also our resident craft queen… if something is cute, crafty, personalized, or decorated magically appears around base, there’s a very good chance Kerri had something to do with it. She somehow keeps the place feeling a little more like home, even on the hard days. When Kerri needs a break from saving the day, you can usually find her on a beach in Florida, definitely her happy place, which honestly seems to happen pretty often. ☀️🌴😉

And if you know Kerri, you know she loves Batman… which feels pretty appropriate considering she’s kind of a superhero herself.

Over the last 10 years, she’s taken care of countless patients, supported her coworkers through the good and bad, is a dependable teammate, great caregiver, and someone we’re lucky to have beside us. We appreciate everything you do for the crew, the patients, and the culture at SF4, Kerri.

Last week, SF2 joined Shawswick Volunteer Fire Department in Bedford for their annual fire prevention program. We look forward to this every year and love spending the day hanging out with the crew and all the kids.

Programs like this are so important in teaching fire safety at a young age, and those lessons truly can save lives. We appreciate all the effort Shawswick puts into making this event happen every single year. They even bring out the smoke house to help teach kids what to do in a fire situation, including stop, drop, and roll and how to safely exit a smoke-filled home.

It’s always a fun day for us, but more importantly, it’s great seeing local departments invest so much into their community and the next generation. Thanks for having us again , already looking forward to next year! 🚁🔥

EMS Week is here! 🚑 We just want to take a minute to recognize all of the EMS crews, firefighters, dispatchers, medics, EMTs, and first responders we’re lucky enough to work with every day. The calls aren’t always easy, the hours are long, and most people will never fully understand what this job takes, but you still show up every single shift ready to help somebody on what could be the worst day of their life.

We appreciate the teamwork, the friendships, and everything you do for your communities. Proud to work alongside you all. 💙

We also hope you get lots of free meals, snacks, drinks, and random treats this week… because you definitely deserve it. 😉

Yesterday, SF4 stayed productive during the thunderstorms and kicked off EMS Week a little early! 🚁⚡️The crew delivered thank you goodies to all three Putnam County EMS locations to show our appreciation for everything they do. Thank you for being our #1 requester and for the hard work, dedication, and teamwork you bring every single day. We’re proud to work alongside you! 💙

Yesterday, StatFlight 3 out of Marion had the privilege of visiting Eastbrook Middle School! They spent the day talking with the Flight & Space classes about the world of air medical transport, what it takes to be part of a flight crew, and the teamwork behind every mission. We even had a few study hall “visitors” stop by… apparently helicopters are a little more exciting than homework. 😉

It’s always an honor to share what we do and hopefully inspire the next generation of pilots, mechanics, nurses, paramedics, and first responders. Thank you to Eastbrook Middle School for having us out! 🩺💙
