No Parking Means… No Parking 🚛🚫
Parking complaints are among the most common concerns we receive across the Eastside.
And yes… dropping a semi trailer in a residential neighborhood is a pretty big no-no… especially when it’s parked right next to multiple No Parking signs.
East District officers responded and handled the issue to help keep the roadway safe and accessible for residents.
If you have a traffic-related concern in your neighborhood, including abandoned vehicles, speeding complaints, parking issues, or other roadway concerns you can report it directly through the City’s traffic complaint portal or the Request Indy portal below:

Thanks for helping us keep the Eastside safe and moving.

Bike to School Day 🚲
It may have been a chilly ride, but it was still a great way to start the day.
Yesterday morning, IMPD East District CRU Officers joined students from Anna Brochhausen IPS School 88 for Bike to School Day, helping lead the ride and making sure everyone arrived safely.
Along the way, officers enjoyed great interactions with students, parents, and staff… sharing smiles, conversations, and a little morning energy before the school day began.
We’re always happy to support our schools and connect with our community in positive ways.
Thanks to everyone who rode with us!

And of course, IMPD East District CRU will be on hand to answer questions, connect with residents, and make sure everyone feels welcome.

It’s May in Indy… you know we had to make a pit stop 🏁
Not quite a tire change, but a little air was needed after our Mounted Unit wrapped up their ride on the Eastside.
When the horses and their partners returned to IMPD East District, they found themselves dealing with a flat. Luckily, they didn’t have to go far for help.
Just across the lot, our local pit crew at Jiffy L**e stepped in and got them taken care of… helping get them safely back on the road (and back to the barn).
Huge shoutout to our friends at Jiffy L**e for the quick assist and for always supporting East District.
Even when it’s not race day… teamwork still wins.

Spring Is Here… and So Are the Horses 🐎
With the warmer weather rolling in, everyone is getting out… including our IMPD Mounted Unit.
They spent some time on the Eastside, starting with a ride along the Pennsy Trail before making their way through Irvington, connecting with neighbors along the way.
If you see them out and about, don’t be shy, stop and say “hey”…
(hay… they might even appreciate the snack. Pun intended.)
Have a safe Monday, Eastside.

We Remember Officer Breann Leath
Today, we honor and remember Officer Breann Leath, who made the ultimate sacrifice on April 9, 2020.
Officer Leath answered her final call for service to help someone in need… a reflection of the selflessness and courage that defined her career. She was a servant leader and an example of the kind of officer we all strive to be in serving our community.
This morning, her brothers and sisters in blue gathered for roll call to reflect on her service and pay tribute on the 6th anniversary of her passing. Her capstone memory was read by a member of East District Middle Shift (Officer Leath’s Shift).
Rest easy, sister. We’ll take it from here.
You will never be forgotten.
Be like Bre. 🌻
