Today marked the opening session of the 2026 SkillsUSA National Leadership & Skills Conference, and we could not be more proud of the scholars representing George Washington High School and Arsenal Technical High School on the national stage!
Making it to this conference is an incredible accomplishment that reflects months of hard work, dedication, leadership, and technical excellence. Our students have already proven they belong among the best in the nation, and we are excited to watch them showcase their talents, skills, and professionalism throughout the week.

Megan Justice, a dedicated math teacher at George Washington High School, deeply values her students and school community. Her teaching reflects careful planning, clear goals, strong organization, and intentional relationship-building, all aimed at helping students see a successful path forward. Through high expectations, consistent routines, and personal connections, she creates classrooms where students grow as confident mathematicians.
Beyond the classroom, Justice contributes to teams focused on instructional excellence, staff wellness, and student growth. Inspired since ninth grade to become a teacher, she has already made a meaningful impact early in her career and continues to find joy and purpose in the profession.
GWHS Dean of Students Gregory Paxson noted that, as a member of the instructional leadership team, Justice brings a strong, thoughtful voice that connects teachers to the larger vision of the school.
βHer leadership is subtle yet commanding, helping guide conversations and decisions that move our school forward. She consistently demonstrates what it means to be a teacher leader by supporting her colleagues and contributing to a collaborative culture focused on student success.
βMs. Justice also leads with heart. As the leader of the Kindness Club, she promotes a positivity initiative that encourages students and staff to create a more compassionate and supportive school environment. Her kindness is evident in everything she does, from advocating for students in the classroom to being present at school events and cheering on our students at athletic competitions. She truly shows up for our school community.β
